Every so often since we moved into our home I would hear what sounded like one of our neighbors was hammering something on their home, but I would never see anyone. Today Brian was home for lunch and realized the sound was a woodpecker on the front right corner of our home. He guessed there is a hole there and the woodpecker was looking for bugs. Anyway, I was just so excited to finally discover what that sound was. It was driving me nuts, not the sound, but not knowing where the sound was coming from.
Last week Brian and I went to see the BodyWorlds exhibit that was in Salt Lake. It was a great experience. It showed all the different parts of the body and how they all work together: the organs, bones, muscles, etc. I enjoyed just learning without worrying about being tested on the material. I took an anatomy class my freshman year at BYU. It was really hard, like most every class there. I ended up getting a D and changing my major from nursing to Elementary Education. My favorite part of the whole exhibit was how it was so blunt about showing us what the lungs look like when someone smokes, and what alcohol does to the liver. It just confirmed my testimony of the Word of Wisdom.

Brooklyn has fallen asleep by herself in a few places in our house: the couch and the floor. I love those days.

Our kids with my sister Stephanie's daughter Allie on Christmas morning. Somehow her son Cade is never in our pictures we take. The kids were really happy, but I think they were just overwhelmed like kids get at Christmas. We spent five days at my parents house in Layton. Good food, good friends, good fun.

A mug shot of our kids. It's easier to take a picture when they are standing up because Brooklyn does not like to sit for pictures because of her attention span.

Three things- #1: I still have nightmares about that Anatomy course. I swear every muscle/tissue on a cadaver looks the same #2-We can barely get Cade in the pictures we take, and we're his parents #3-Your blog always makes me laugh, very funny!
How fun about the wood pecker! That's good you enjoyed the awesome exhibit. We can use the studio lighting and take some pictures in your house with my camera. Brooklyn can do whatever she wants for her poses!
You're doing a great job with blogging, yours and Brian's posts are definitely entertaining! Love you guys!
That is funny that you guys have a wood pecker. One day we found a peacock in our backyard. Isn't that bizarre! I love the pictures of your kids! They are way cute. I still don't know how you jungle 4.
I saw a similar exhibit in Vegas. Fascinating. Who would of thought our bodies are so weird on the inside.
I love the days kids fall asleep on their own. I secretly hope it happens every day.
